Video cuts to the heart of what Flossmoor residents love about their town

Flossmoor’s commitment to diversity rings loud and clear in a recently-released promotional video highlighting the community’s many faces and positive attributes.
 
The three-minute video features clips from events in town, such as National Night Out and Martin Luther King Day of Service, and interviews with Flossmoor residents who talk about their love for the town, its people and its “intentional inclusivity.”

International organization names Flossmoor recipient of diversity award

The Village of Flossmoor's commitment to diversity and inclusion has been recognized on an international level. Flossmoor is receiving the 2018 Community Diversity and Inclusion Program Excellence Award from the International City and County Managers Association (ICMA). This year’s award is being given to just three municipalities out of the organization’s 11,000 worldwide members. 

Community House Fest to celebrate community with summer fun for all

Summer is the season for block parties, and Flossmoor Community Church is planning a big one — a "block party plus" — from 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 21. It will be a chance for everyone in the community to have fun and support the church's social justice missions, according to organizers.

Reflective diversity program hosted by District 153

A year-long program designed to help participants understand and grow through reflections on diversity is being offered by Homewood District 153 starting Tuesday, Sept. 29. [Updated Sept. 24]

A great community deserves a great newspaper. The HF Chronicle was created in June 2014 as an online publication. In December 2015 we began monthly print publication, too. Our mission is to chronicle the life of our community — news by, for, and about the people of Homewood and Flossmoor, Illinois.
