Committee members eye restoration of Flossmoor’s downtown clock tower

Fans of “Back to the Future” remember a downtown clock tower that plays a notable role in the film. Flossmoor's clock tower is not nearly as famous, but it's about to receive some local attention as a group of area residents is moving ahead with plans to install functional timepieces at the tower.

Fresh Starts owner retiring after 31 years

“This is so bittersweet. I have spent almost my entire adult life at Fresh Starts and will miss it every day. How many of us can look back and say that? I have been truly blessed,” Lindholm said. She is retiring after spending more than three decades operating Fresh Starts in downtown Flossmoor.

Political banner at Flossmoor Metra station removed by rail agency

A Metra police officer this week removed a political banner from the railing above the north entrance to FIossmoor’s commuter station.

Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said the banner was removed by an officer on March 8.

“We don’t allow political signs on our property,” Gillis said on Friday.
