Events focus on saving the environment and celebrating Earth Day

As the nation prepares for the annual Earth Day celebration on April 22, several programs in the Homewood-Flossmoor area are providing information and ways to celebrate special efforts to recognize how to be environmentally kind to the earth.
 
The Flossmoor Public Library and the Flossmoor Green Commission are presenting two special programs dealing with the environment on Saturday, April 14, at the Flossmoor Public Library.

Earth Day is a reminder about things we can do routinely to keep our home in order. Chronicle reader Betty Baker and local organization Action for a Better Tomorrow offer words and action for tackling a "little" problem. They are among a number of local residents and organizations who are doing good work tend the local environment.

Walt’s Foods shoppers to get students’ Earth Day message

As the country marks Earth Day Wednesday, April 22, shoppers at Walt’s Foods in Homewood will get a specially created message marking the day.
