Community backs Chronicle in first fundraiser

The Chronicle started its fundraising campaign over the weekend. It took only 24 hours for the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle to raise more than half the money it will need for a print edition and other projects.

Pedal for Prostate: Area cyclists can help Cancer Support Center with ride Saturday

Area cyclists will have a chance to enjoy a ride together Saturday, Sept. 19, and contribute to the Cancer Support Center at the same time. Pedal for Prostrate, an awareness and fundraising event for the center, will begin at 10 a.m.

One year after losing their daughter Olivia to brain cancer, Dan and Meg Kresach are doing everything they can to defeat the killer disease. This month, Melody Mart in Homewood is hosting its Live For Liv Music-A-Thon to raise money for Voices Against Brain Cancer, a national organization that supports research into the most deadly forms of the disease.

Community residents are invited to a gala event at Olympia Fields Country Club on March 7 as the Prairie State College Foundation hosts its annual fundraiser to help students meet the costs of a college education.

In December 2015 we began monthly print publication, too. Our mission is to chronicle the life of our community — news by, for, and about the people of Homewood and Flossmoor, Illinois.
