Stanback, Trice Jr. lead Vikings to victory

Homewood-Flossmoor High's Vikings outlasted Lincoln Way East Friday night with a score of 64-54 to give H-F an impressive 5-1 record to start off the basketball season.

Tony Kruse and crew are back coaching H-F volleyball teams

Tony Kruse’s hiatus as the Homewood-Flossmoor High volleyball program head coach is over.
 
Kruse, a physical education teacher, had been the girls head coach for the first 10 years and worked with the boys team for six years of his 14-year tenure at H-F. He walked away from coaching when he and his wife started their family.  He wanted to have hours at home when his two children, now 4 and 2, were born and share family responsibilities with his wife.
 

H-F golf team advances to state championships

The Homewood-Flossmoor High School varsity golf team will take their skills to the Illinois High School Association state championships on Oct. 12 and 13 after winning the sectionals championship.

H-F girls track brings home 2nd place state title

The girls track and field team at Homewood-Flossmoor High School brought home the second place trophy and three first place honors from the Illinois High School Association’s Class 3A meet May 17 and 18.
 

H-F senior Justin Hall has a big night against Michigan City

Last Friday night was all about Justin Hall as he racked up 247 all-purpose yards with five touchdowns to cap off an outstanding performance as Homewood-Flossmoor defeated Michigan City by a score of 63-21 in the Vikings’ first game of the season.

Annual H-F senior sports banquet caps a stellar athletic year

Dozens of awards were handed out to graduating athletes at the 39th Annual Homewood-Flossmoor Senior Athletic Banquet but it was a mass celebration June 1 at Idlewild Country Club in Flossmoor.

Wrenn to be guest at H-F alumni golf outing July 24 to raise money for sports scholarships

Alumni of Homewood-Flossmoor High School are organizing the first Red And White H-F Golf Classic on July 24 to develop a fund to underwrite summer training camp scholarships. Special guest for the event will be John Wrenn, former H-F football coach whose team won the state title in 1994.

In December 2015 we began monthly print publication, too. Our mission is to chronicle the life of our community — news by, for, and about the people of Homewood and Flossmoor, Illinois.
