Homewood trustees to consider local gas tax, alternative water sources

Homewood trustees will consider a measure Tuesday to add a 3-cent per gallon tax to gasoline sold in the village. If implemented, and in combination with an expected increase in Motor Fuel Tax revenue from the state, the village could more than double the funds used for the street resurfacing program.

It just became a little more difficult for criminals to outrun the Homewood police. 


Ephraim Dorsey, who ran middle distance for track teams at Homewood-Flossmoor High School and Eastern Illinois University, took the oath to become an officer at the June 13 village board meeting.
