H-F High School’s fall musical ‘Chicago’ set for Nov. 9 and 10

The razzle-dazzle musical “Chicago” will be performed by Homewood-Flossmoor High School theater and music students at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9, and 10 in the Mall Auditorium.
 
This high school edition of the Broadway production is recommended for ages 13 and up.
 

Summer Theatre at H-F High presents 'Big the Musical TYA' July 19 and 20

Students in grades 2 through 12 participating in summer theater at Homewood-Flossmoor High School will conclude the session with three performances of “Big the Musical,” the theater for young audiences version.
 
Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, July 20, in the Mall Auditorium in H-F’s South Building. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, children and senior citizens.
 

Musical improv team performs benefit Friday

The 23 Miles South Theatre in Homewood will present The Tony Stanzas musical improv team in a benefit performance at 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, on the lower level stage at St. Paul Community Church, 18200 Dixie Highway in Homewood.
 
The Tony Stanzas will take suggestions at the opening of the show and create a fully-improvised musical right in front of your eyes, according to Dawn Peloso, director of 23 Miles South. 

‘Hairspray’ staged April 20, 21, 22 at Marian Catholic High

When Marian Catholic High School stages the musical “Hairspray” this weekend it will be senior Steven Babick’s final performance. Steven, of Homewood, will be joined on stage by sophomore Fiona Keating and freshman Taylor Trojan, both of Flossmoor, for the 7 p.m. shows Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22.

'Beauty and the Beast' staged at Hart School March 1 and 2

More than 80 students will perform and help stage “Beauty and the Beast” at 7 p.m. on March 1 and 2 at James Hart School, 18220 Morgan St.  in Homewood.

‘Sister Act’ to be staged at H-F High Nov. 10 and 11

The Homewood-Flossmoor High School theatre program will present the musical comedy “Sister Act” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10 and 11, in the Mall Auditorium.
 

Musical ‘Eating Raoul’ presented in November by The Drama Group

The Drama Group presents a zany Broadway musical “Eating Raoul” filled with lively intrigue and laughs as the plot thickens.
 
The show will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18, or 2 p.m. Nov. 12, 18 and 19, at the Milord Studio Theater, 330 W. 202nd St. in Chicago Heights.
 

‘The Secret Garden’ musical performed April 28, 29, 30

The Tony Award-winning musical “The Secret Garden” will be performed by members of The Drama Group April 28, 29 and 30 at the Bloom Township High School auditorium.
 

Two outstanding H-F stars featured in The Fantasticks

Megan Murray starred in three musicals at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. David Boettcher was her teacher and theater director. Now they’re teaming up for the Artists Walk Theatre presentation of “The Fantasticks,” the longest running musical on Broadway.
