Rep. Kelly hosts Monday meeting on health care needs

U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., is convening an issues-focused hearing on Monday, Aug. 14, aimed at strengthening the debate on healthcare reform.
 
The non-partisan Congressional field inquiry will be conducted from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse, 219 S. Dearborn St. in Chicago in Room 2525.

Rep. Kelly joins fellow Democrats in sit-in in U.S. House

Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.) is among a group of Democrats conducting a gun legislation sit-in in the United States House of Representatives today, Wednesday, June 22.

Rep. Kelly, who represents Homewood and Flossmoor in Congress, has been campaigning for strong gun safety measures and restrictions on gun sales since she was first elected to the House in 2013.

H-F High artists’ works recognized

Ashley Deckelman placed second and Lucy Sloan placed third in the 2016 Congressional Art Competition-2nd Congressional District for high school students hosted by U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.)

They were two of the 10 Homewood-Flossmoor High School students who participated. Entrees were also submitted by H-F students Aliyah Wilson, Shiloah Coley, Eliza Sykes, Taylor Ausley, Kira Van Voorhees, Brenden Smith, Jeremy Libretti-River and Kenneth Bivens.
