Homewood trustees to consider street resurfacing agreement, new liquor license for convenience store

Homewood trustees will consider an intergovernmental agreement at its Tuesday meeting that would enable the resurfacing of 175th Street.

The agreement with the Cook County Department of Transportation would govern the project, which outlines resurfacing the street and repairing curbs and sidewalks from Ashland Avenue to the entrance to the Menards store on the east side of Halsted Street.

Street resurfacing to begin Monday in Homewood

Motorists might want to seek alternate routes in coming weeks while work begins on Homewood's 2018 street resurfacing program.

Work is expected to begin Monday, April 30, according to Village Engineer Max Massi. The project includes repairs to the following streets:
  • Birch Road from Loomis Avenue to Riegel Road.
  • Cedar Road from Harwood Avenue to Ashland Avenue.
  • Vincennes from Pine Road to Dixie Highway.

Homewood awards bids for construction, computers, street work

Emergency vehicles in Homewood will get new computer equipment after the village board approved leasing agreements with Marlin Business Bank at its April 25 meeting.

As state withholds Motor Fuel Tax, village’s street repair fund could run dry

Flossmoor’s yearly road resurfacing program is complete and the village is preparing to buy road salt to make winter driving less treacherous. But, as the state budget impasse continues, revenues that fund those expenditures will soon be nearly depleted.
