H-F High asks community for input on expansion plans

The District 233 school board is hoping to get feedback through Nov. 17 on its survey of proposed plans for additions to Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
 

Musical ‘Eating Raoul’ presented in November by The Drama Group

The Drama Group presents a zany Broadway musical “Eating Raoul” filled with lively intrigue and laughs as the plot thickens.
 
The show will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18, or 2 p.m. Nov. 12, 18 and 19, at the Milord Studio Theater, 330 W. 202nd St. in Chicago Heights.
 

H-F High School presents children’s play ‘Jackie & Me’ on Sept. 27, 28

“Jackie & Me,” a play for children that tells the story of Jackie Robinson, will be staged by theater students at Homewood-Flossmoor High School on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 27 and 28.
 
Both presentations are at 7 p.m. in the school’s Mall Auditorium. Tickets are $9 for adults, $6 for students and senior citizens. 
 

Homewood’s 23 Miles South sets auditions for holiday play

Homewood’s new theater company, 23 Miles South, is hosting auditions from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 25 and 26, at St. Paul Community Church for its holiday production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”
 
Roles are available for six women, four men and several children, as well as a piano player. Persons auditioning are asked to prepare a monologue or read from the script. Children auditioning are asked to sing a holiday song of their choice.
 

‘Harriet the Spy’ performed Friday and Saturday in Homewood

Homewood’s 23 Miles South Theatre will present three performances of “Harriet the Spy” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11 and 12.
 
The cast will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a dinner/theatre package available. The play will also be performed at 3 and 7 p.m.* on Saturday. Performances are at St. Paul Community Church, 18200 Dixie Highway.
 

Drama Group wraps up 86th season with ‘Heathers: The Musical’

Megan Murray starred in three musicals at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. David Boettcher was her teacher and theater director. Now they’re teaming up for the Artists Walk Theatre presentation of “The Fantasticks,” the longest running musical on Broadway.

Parker students perform musical play ‘Once On This Island’ Friday

“Once Upon This Island,” a musical play about the power of love on a Caribbean island, comes to Parker Junior High School Friday for one performance. The curtain goes up at 6:30 p.m. at the junior high, 2810 School St. in Flossmoor.
