Homewood police to issue tickets for late stickers after Aug. 1

Homewood residents have until Aug. 1 to make their vehicle stickers current and avoid additional late fees and other penalties.

Trustees approved an ordinance at the village board meeting July 10 that grants police authority to begin ticketing.
The village began selling and renewing stickers on April 1. Residents are required to purchase vehicle stickers before May 31. That deadline has been extended to Aug. 1, but now includes a $25 late fee.

Vehicle sticker scofflaws could face ticket if ordinance approved

Some Homewood residents have found the process of obtaining vehicle stickers and overnight parking ban exemptions more complicated than usual this year. There's a connection to the state's budget woes.

Residents who haven't yet obtained a sticker might be issued a ticket if they don't comply by Aug. 1 if the village approves an ordinance on the agenda. The orginal deadline for purchasing a sticker without penalty was May 31.

Homewood residents urged to get vehicle stickers before deadline

Village officials are reminding Homewood residents that time is running out to puchase vehicle stickers.

Stickers must be displayed on vehicles by May 31, according to a notice in the summer edition of the Village Key.

Starting June 1, a $25 late fee is added to the $30 sticker fee for three- and four-wheel vehicles. The sticker fee for disabled veterans is $2 and for residents age 65 or older is $5. Replacement stickers are $5.
