James Hart students help celebrate Veterans Day

Veterans Day in Homewood got an early start when eighth grade students at James Hart School gathered Friday morning to salute veterans.

Veterans can get free dental services on Nov. 11

Two Flossmoor dental practices are taking part in this year’s statewide Veterans Day dentistry program.
 
On Nov. 11, veterans can receive free dental treatment at the Southland Smiles and the Center for Dental Excellence. 
 
The program is sponsored by the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) to show appreciation to veterans across the state.
 

Veterans saluted at two programs in Homewood

School children paid special tribute to the nation’s veterans on Friday in celebration of Veterans Day. Vets had breakfast at the invitation of Homewood’s Churchill School students who sang and performed for them.

Veterans Day prayer service at St. Joseph Church

St. Joseph School in Homewood invites all active duty military, veterans and their families to a special Veterans Day prayer service at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the parish church, 17951 Dixie Highway.

Faculty, staff and students will join together with Rev. Dan Jarosewic, associate pastor at St. Joseph’s, to honor through prayer and song the men and women who serve or have served as a member of the armed forces. Active duty military are urged to attend in uniform. 

James Hart, Millennium students give special salute to veterans at breakfast program

Veterans were saluted and serenaded by students at James Hart School in Homewood as part of the District 153 celebration of Veterans Day on Wednesday. More than 40 veterans accepted invitations to be guests at a special breakfast at James Hart and Millennium schools.
