After serving in the military, veterans and their families are entitled to various benefits. The Homewood Public Library is hosting a veterans benefits fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, with organizations that can provide information on veterans’ opportunities and benefits.
Janet Burke, a third grade teacher at Serena Hills School, will be honored Saturday as a finalist for the 2015 Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching. Burke is one of 30 Golden Apple finalists from throughout the Chicago area.
Polls are open today until 7 p.m.
