An essay by London Hatch of St. Joseph School written to author Anne Frank has won special recognition through the “Letters About Literature” essay contest sponsored by the Illinois Secretary of State and the Illinois Center for the Book.

2 vehicles, electronics taken from Homewood residence while family slept May 24

Two vehicles were stolen from a Homewood residence overnight May 23-24, according to a police report.

The vehicles taken from the 18900 block of Jodi Terrace were a 2008 gray Ford Taurus and a red Ford Ranger with an unspecified model  year, according to the report, obtained by the HF Chronicle through a FOIA request. 

The vehicles were taken between 11:55 p.m. and 5 a.m. May 24. The keys to the vehicles were taken from inside the home.

The HF Chronicle turns 1

On Tuesday the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle will celebrate its first birthday. After publishing for a year, we thought it was about time we introduced ourselves.

Parker honors graduates at Thursday commencement

Three hundred students received diplomas Thursday from Parker Junior High School. In a commencement ceremony at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, graduates were honored for their achievements as they were reminded that their educational journey resumes at the end of the summer.
