Chicago man charged with felony traffic offense after Homewood traffic stop

A Chicago man was arrested in Homewood Tuesday, Nov. 25, after Homewood police stopped him in the 3100 block of 183rd Street because the license plate on the vehicle he was driving was obscured by snow, ice and a portion of the plate holder.

Chicago Heights woman charged with child endangerment

A Chicago Heights woman was charged Tuesday, Nov. 25, with child endangerment after allegedly leaving two children in a vehicle parked at a Homewood store.

Police were notified shortly before 7 p.m. that one or more children were in a vehicle in the 17800 block of Halsted Street. On arrival, they found two children unattended, according to the police report.

Ebonie Weaver, 25, was subsequently charged in the incident, police said.

H-F’s Success with AP courses draws visitors from Hawaii

Homewood-Flossmoor High School recently welcomed educators from Hawaii’s Mililani High School in Oahu and Farrington High School in Honolulu during a special visit to the Chicago area.

H-F was one of five high schools the educators visited the week of Nov. 17 for a look at how some of the top schools are using advanced placement and gifted programs.
