The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is accepting applications from Homewood and Flossmoor residents who are interested in serving on the board.
Commissioner Sue Bertram is stepping down after 26 years on the board. Her last meeting will be Jan. 19.
The person chosen to fill the vacancy will serve from February 16, 2016 through April 2017. The remaining two years of the commissioner’s seat will be up for election on the ballot in April 2017 consolidated election.
Park District Executive Director Debbie Kopas said candidates must be registered voters. They are asked to submit a letter of interest and file a questionnaire that is online at hfparks.com by 11 a.m. Dec. 11. Letters and questionnaires can be sent by mail to Kopas at the park district office, 3301 Flossmoor Rd., Flossmoor or by email to [email protected].
Candidate interviews are set for Jan. 5.
