Burglaries reported to Flossmoor police late Friday, early Saturday

Multiple burglaries to homes and vehicles were reported to Flossmoor police Friday night and early Saturday morning.

According to an email alert from the Flossmoor Police Department, officers responded to a burglary in progress in the 2100 block of Evans Road at 11:10 p.m. April 21. The homeowner reported hearing noises coming from the attached garage. Responding officers secured the garage and searched the area and did not locate any the suspects.

Police said it appears the suspect gained entry to the garage by entering the service door. Property was discovered missing from inside the vehicles.

Officers also discovered an open garage service door in the 2000 block of Evans Road. It appeared the vehicles were entered but nothing was reported missing.

During this investigation, officers received a call of a burglary to motor vehicle in progress in the 1300 block of Dartmouth Road. Officers responded to the area and observed a light-colored vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle fled south on Dixie Highway into Chicago Heights. Officers were unable to apprehend the vehicle.

Officers later learned that two vehicles in the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Dartmouth Road had been entered.

At approximately 12:15 a.m., a resident returned home and discovered a burglary to a residence in the 2000 block of Evans. Forced entry was made through a bedroom window. Items missing included jewelry, a television and a computer.

Police said all these incidents appear to be related. Police are investigating these incidents and seeking witnesses or residents in this area who have exterior home video camera systems that can be used to assist in identifying the suspects. The only descriptions at this time are of two young adults driving the vehicle that was pursued by police.
