H-F students place in AAU Junior Olympics

Competition at Homewood-Flossmoor High School was over, but that didn’t mean the end to track and field for several students who raced as members of the Illinois Shockers at the Amateur Athletic Association (AAU) Junior Olympics.
 
Representing the Homewood-based track club at the Aug. 5 track and field events at Eastern Michigan University were Jasmyn Hunter, an incoming H-F freshman; Jalen Hunter, an H-F junior; Joshua Bridges, an H-F junior; Jalen Robinson, an H-F junior; Aque Warner, an H-F junior; and Jeseun Adeyiga an H-F junior.

Winning records at the national meet in the ages 8 to 18 competition:
 
Jasmyn Hunter, 2nd place, pentathlon; 8th place, 100-meter hurdles.

Jalen Hunter, 7th place, long jump of 21 feet, 6 inches.
 
Joshua Bridges, 7th place, 100-meter dash.
 
Jalen Robinson, Jalen Hunter, Aque Warner with Victor Cameron of Crete-Monee High, 9th place, 4X400 relay.
