H-F Parks redesigned website take first place in state competition

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has earned a first place award for its redesigned website, www.hfparks.com.

The award was presented in the website design category at the 2017 Agency Showcase Competition at the annual Illinois Association of Park Districts/Illinois Park and Recreation Association Conference in January.

Darren Jasieniecki, marketing and public relations manager for the park district, said the showcase is the premier communications and marketing competition for park and recreation agencies.

“We are thrilled to receive this recognition for our new website,” said Jasieniecki.  “It’s an honor to be recognized among so many other talented park district marketing professionals throughout the state.”

The redesigned H-F parks website offers quick and easy access to essential information and features. Users are given a more comprehensive understanding of all the park district has to offer.

The website also offers online registration, a park finder with directions, online facility rental forms, employment listings, outdoor ice rink and sled hill status and individual park listings with pictures, park features and maps.

The H-F park district website was one of more than 250 marketing pieces submitted by 59 agencies. Submissions were judged by representatives from regional Chicago marketing firms, advertising agencies and institutions of higher education.
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has served the Homewood and Flossmoor communities for 47 years and maintains 31 parks covering 356 acres.

The H-F Park District’s unique parks are often built as the first of their kind in the South Suburbs. They include Rover’s Run Dog Park, the Extreme Scene Skate Park, the Millennium Park Splash Pad and Patriots Park.

The district also manages several recreation facilities including: Coyote Run Golf Course, The Clubhouse at Dolphin Lake, H-F Auditorium, H-F Ice Arena, H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, H-F Sports Complex, Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center, Irwin Community Center and Lions Club Pool.
