She said she just decided it was time to retire — for the second time — and devote herself to other pursuits: travel, oil painting, hanging out with friends and, by moving to the other side of the counter, shopping.

The boutique has been in its current location, 2007 Ridge Road, since late 2015, but Ghezzi bought the store from its previous owner more than a decade ago when it was known as Duo’s Nearly Nu and was located two doors west at 2015 Ridge Road.

At that time, Duo’s was part boutique and mostly consignment store, but when she moved into the smaller space, Ghezzi changed the name to Duo’s Boutique, reduced the amount of consignment she offered and focused on high quality clothing and accessories.

Ghezzi’s entry into local retail sales began in the mid-1990s, when she opened Her Closet in downtown Flossmoor. She sold that store in about 2000 to Rose Demko, and it continues at its location in the Cherry Creek shopping center on Governors Highway.
