Take a swing with Baseball Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk on Friday, Aug. 24, when he plays with participants in the Cancer Support Center’s 27th annual golf outing.

Fisk, who was a White Sox catcher for 12 years, will be on the course at Ravisloe Country Club. All golfers will have a chance to play a hole with Fisk on the course. Any golfer who outdrives him will receive an autographed baseball.

Registration opens at noon for the 18-hole round of golf with a 1 p.m. shotgun start followed by a barbeque dinner at 6 p.m. and entertainment. Tickets are $200 per person or $800 for a foursome.  Tickets for the dinner portion of the event are $60.

The Cancer Support Center, at 2028 Elm Road in Homewood and a second location in Mokena, provides a wide range of programs for those dealing with a cancer diagnosis and their caregivers. Programs, resources and services are delivered free of charge by professional therapists, counselors, nutritional educators and experts.
