Chick-fil-A, Panera coming to Halsted location in Homewood

Homewood Mayor Richard Hofeld announced on Saturday the names of two restaurants that will be developed on the northwest corner of 175th and Halsted streets.

Chick-fil-A and Panera have signed leases for restaurants that will replace the former bank building that is currently on the site. Both restaurants will have drive-through service.

“We’ve been working on this for more than a year,” Hofeld said. “We’re very happy to have them here and look forward to them getting construction under way. It gives people more dining options.”

Hofeld said he did not know whether Panera officials plan to continue the company’s Cherry Creek location on the west side of Homewood, though he said he would urge them to do so.

GMX Real Estate Group Acquisitions LLC purchased two parcels of land from the village in September that will be part of the development.
