Pedestrian reportedly killed when struck by train at Homewood station

A 52-year-old woman was killed when struck by a Metra Electric Line train at Homewood station Tuesday evening, according to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times.

A 52-year-old woman was killed when struck by a Metra Electric Line train at Homewood station Tuesday evening, according to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times. 

Metra officials said train No. 603 was out of service and was not carrying passengers when the pedestrian was struck.

In the hours following the incident, trains were not stopping at Homewood station while Metra police investigated. Homewood police officers were also on scene.

Metra announced shortly after midnight that service was resuming with scheduled stops at Homewood station. 

No additional information was available Tuesday night. More information to follow.
