Bookie’s New and Used Books held its ribbon-cutting and grand opening on Friday, Sept. 21, with village officials and store staff celebrating the opening of the company’s second store. Bookie’s also has a store in the Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood.

The independent book store first opened its doors on Sept. 8 with a soft opening and presentation and book signing by Jamie Swenson. The shop then closed for two weeks to finish stocking shelves.
