A party to mark 50 years of work by Respond Now, a helping agency in the South Suburbs, is planned for Thursday, Sept. 19, at Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery, 1035 Sterling Ave. The party goes from 6 to 9 p.m. and will feature music, food and a specialty beer created just for this event.
A party to mark 50 years of work by Respond Now, a helping agency in the South Suburbs, is planned for Thursday, Sept. 19, at Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery, 1035 Sterling Ave.
The party goes from 6 to 9 p.m. and will feature music, food and a specialty beer created just for this event.
Supporters also will get a chance to win a raffle to be a brewmaster at Flossmoor Station learning about customized recipes and the brewing process through a hands-on training session.
The raffle also will include Bears tickets and other prizes.

Respond Now provides for the immediate needs of housing, health and hunger for residents in 22 communities in the South Suburbs. Respond Now offers a multitude of services including providing food, helping with housing, prescription coupons, clothing, transportation and school supplies. The agency provides more than 130 families with rent and utility assistance. There has been a 20 percent increase in families served since 2009.
