A new restaurant offering Mexican cuisine could open at 17536 Dixie Highway, but the project will require a parking variance before it can open. At their Tuesday meeting, Homewood trustees will consider the variance request from Laura Carbajal de Garcia, owner of Don Goyo Fine Mexican Cuisine.
At their Tuesday meeting, Homewood trustees will consider the variance request from Laura Carbajal de Garcia, owner of Don Goyo Fine Mexican Cuisine.
If the variance is approved, the restaurant will occupy space in the shopping strip that has been empty for at least 15 years, according to village officials.
According to village code, additional parking is required for the restaurant to operate, and the property is currently short seven spaces.
In other business, the board will consider:
- A resolution marking Cindy Murray’s retirement after 26 years with the village. She currently is a records clerk for Homewood Police Department.
- Approving a contract with a grant writer.
