Homewood-Flossmoor’s Vikings couldn’t compete against Bolingbrook’s 16-4 run in the third quarter of Friday’s at-home game. Despite their best efforts, the Vikings took the 86-63 loss.

Junior Darius Buford led the way for the 13-3 Bolingbrook Raiders with 24 points. H-F senior Isaac Stanback contributed 19 for the Vikings.

“We’ve got to play 32 minutes instead of 22 minutes. That 10 minutes that we didn’t play and stick to the game plan and do the things we talked about all week obviously really hurt us,” H-F Coach Marc Condotti said.

The Raiders led throughout the game, but  an acrobatic layup by Senior Maurion Scott, helped the Vikings decrease the Raiders lead to three going into the third quarter with the score of 41-38.

Senior Anthony Thompson and junior Jordan Myrick scored 14 combined points for Bolingbrook during the third quarter, including three three-pointers, to help give them a 68-52 lead after three quarters.

H-F had 16 turnovers through three quarters, with four in the third quarter alone.

“That’s what Bolingbrook does. They turn you over and they look to score in transition so obviously we have to get better in that regard,” Condotti said.

H-F will have a chance for revenge Feb. 15 when they visit the Raiders.
