Matteson teen shot in Ford Heights found dead in Homewood

An 18-year-old man who was shot at a gathering in Ford Heights was found dead near 183rd Street and Highland Avenue early Friday, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report.

Homewood police confirmed that officers and Homewood Fire Department units responded to the area after a call came in to the emergency dispatch center at 2:06 a.m.

The Sun-Times reported that sheriff's police were at the scene of a gathering in Ford Heights when they heard gunshots. 

Maleek Clark, of Matteson, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is being handled by Cook County Sheriff’s Police, according to a Homewood police spokeswoman.
