The organization’s supporters are hosting a golf outing to support the program and enhancements at the H-F Ice Arena.
The golf event will have a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, at Coyote Run Golf Course, 800 S. Kedzie Ave. in Flossmoor. The fee is $100 per player, or $400 for a foursome, including use of the range, greens fees, golf cart, lunch and dinner. Guests also can join the fun at Wiley’s Grill for dinner for $35.
The H-F Vikings Youth Hockey program is a member of the Northwest Hockey League. During its last season, September 2018 through March 2019, the program involved 114 players in seven teams across all age groups. The program had a record of 42 wins, 27 losses and nine ties. That was the third best winning percentage from the 22 Northwest Hockey League teams.
The H-F Viking Youth Hockey program had multiple travel tournament championships and a second place finish.

In its April through June spring season, the program had 72 players in six teams across all age groups. The overall spring record was 24 wins, 21 losses and three ties. Players had a second place tournament finish.
Parent volunteers also keep the skaters involved in outside activities. Players and their families assembled 130 boxes of food at the Feed Our Starving Children program in Aurora. Families also made baby blankets that were donated to local hospitals.
In April, the program had 11 skaters participate in the “Finish Your Shift” Hockey Jamboree for the Chicago Police Department’s Memorial Foundation. The event raised $8,000 for families of wounded and fallen police officers.
At the jamboree, the Vikings members were selected to deliver a signed get-well card to Office Tim Jones of the Park Forest Police Department who was seriously wounded on the job in March 2016.
The H-F Vikings Youth Hockey program will next volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in October.
