Berman has had responsibilities with the organization and is concluding a year as programming chair/vice president of the board. He has been a member of the organization for four years.

“I have set a number of goals for my region this year, including reaching the 700-member mark. I want to raise $20,000 for the International Service Fund that enables teens to get scholarships for our conventions and programs,” he said.

Berman also wants to encourage teens to become part of BBYO’s global penpal program. He’s hoping to increase participation to 100 or more teens.

Berman, the son of Debbie and Elliot Berman of Flossmoor, is a member of Temple Anshe Sholom.

Allison Stern, an H-F junior, will be leading BBYO’s BBG girls sorority.
