Commissioner Miller ready for Chicago Football Classic Saturday

Cook County 6th District Commissioner Donna Miller invites “anyone who loves football” to join her for the 22nd annual Chicago Football Classic, Howard University versus Hampton University, at Solider Field on Saturday, Sept. 14.

It is part of a weekend event that will feature a college fair and battle of the bands.  Miller is bringing 100 youth from the 6th District to the game, with support from Sutton Ford-Lincoln, Illinois School Bus Company, Greenlee Law Group and Rewards Luxury Development.

“I think this event is such a worthwhile cause and hope all those that can, will support the CFC scholarship program with the knowledge that you’re contributing to the success of our young people, our county and our country,” Miller said.

Miller says her personal loyalty will be for a Howard win. In her family, she is a third generation Howard graduate.

“The organizers of the CFC commit to always making sure students from Chicago Public Schools get the exposure to HBCU’s (historically black colleges and universities) and I also wanted to extend that same experience to students from the South Suburban area,” Miller said.
