Rabid Brewing of Homewood will host the 2020 Women’s Collaboration Brew Day on Friday, March 6, with the Chicago chapter of the Pink Boots Society, an international organization of women in the brewing industry.

The Collaboration Brew Day is in honor of International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8. Raiye Rosado, president of Rabid Brewing, said a juicy kveik IPA brewed for this event will be served at Rabid Brewing, 17759 Bretz Drive, and at breweries around the city, including Burnt City, Goose Island, Haymarket and Sew Hopped.

The IPA recipe was created from four specialty hops selected at the Pink Boots annual Hop Rub in Denver. The Pink Boots brewers then used their collective experience to create the recipe for Rabid Brewing’s IPA.

“Being part of Pink Boots Society gives women the opportunity to forge relationships with other women from breweries throughout the Chicago area,” Rosado said. The Collaboration Brew Day “is about celebrating those relationships and the collective impact that we have on the industry.”

The Collaboration Brew Day is a fundraiser with proceeds split between Pink Books Society chapters. Funds will be applied to educational scholarships for members.
