Flossmoor School District 161 will be hosting a virtual Diversity Dinner at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8.
Anyone who wishes to attend should send an email to [email protected] by 1 p.m. on Monday, July 6.
The focus of the discussion will be “Talking to Children About Racial Bias” by Drs. Ashaunta Anderson and Jacqueline Dougé.
The context for the discussion are five main focus areas: student achievement, student discipline, teacher support and professional development, culture and climate, and staff recruitment and retention.
After some guiding questions to address the article, groups will discuss how to apply ideas to the school district and as the community.
