Homewood trustees will consider two measures on Tuesday related to motor fuel taxes.

On the Homewood village board agenda for Tuesday’s meeting is an ordinance to amend the village’s 3-cent local gas tax.

A new state law in 2019 authorized municipalities to collect their own fuel tax, but the Illinois legislature later made changes to the method of collecting the revenue, so the village’s ordinance needs to be revised accordingly.

The board will also consider bids for the 2020 street resurfacing program, which uses state motor fuel tax funding.

In other business, trustees will consider:

  • A request to renew a Class 8 property tax relief designation for Homewood Disposal.
  • A license supplement to allow AT&T to install a small wireless cell site at 1963 Ridge Road.
  • A motion to approve the appointment of Kim Luytgaarden to the Beautification Committee and a reappointment of Brandon Svec to the Economic Development Committee.

The board will meet at 7 p.m. in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road.
