Tuesday is deadline for H-F superintendent search survey

Homewood-Flossmoor High School residents are encouraged to fill out an online survey by Tuesday, Jan. 19. Answers will help a search firm find a new superintendent for District 233.

The survey can be found online.

Superintendent Von Mansfield will retire in June 2022. The school board has begun the search for his replacement. The new person will be in place for the start of the 2021-22 school year and will shadow Mansfield during his last year as superintendent.

The survey has seven questions, such as: “What do you consider to be the three most important issues or concerns facing Homewood-Flossmoor High School in the next five years?” and “Select from the list below the three most important skills you would like to see in a superintendent.”

Participants are asked to answer questions from a list of options. This survey does not ask for written answers. All responses are collected anonymously.

The survey is just one step in the regional and national search for Mansfield’s successor being conducted by BWP & Associates. Other steps in the search process include focus groups and private meetings with District 233 school board members.

And, join representatives of BWP & Associates on Thursday, Jan. 21, when they host a community focus group via Zoom from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The focus group’s purpose will be to gather residents’ thoughts about and expectations for a new superintendent.
