Flossmoor village hall to reopen Thursday

Flossmoor officials announced Wednesday afternoon that village hall and public works offices will reopen to the public on Thursday, Jan. 21.

Flossmoor public facilities have been closed because of state-imposed virus mitigation restrictions. The suburban Chicago region has been in Tier 3 mitigations since November.

State health officials announced on Monday that the region would move to the less restrictive Tier 2 level.

Village officials urged residents to continue doing business with the village remotely, when possible. Those who visit village offices will be required to wear a mask or face covering while doing business.

All visitors will be screened for a high temperature. Two temperature screening stations are set up at village hall. One is located in the lobby near the front desk. The other is located near the Board Room. Any visitor with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be rescanned once. If the second screening is not below 100.4, the visitor will be asked to leave and encouraged to conduct business remotely.
