League of Women Voters hosts forums for Flossmoor mayor, District 233 candidates

The Homewood-Flossmoor League of Women Voters is hosting two virtual candidate forums for the April 6 election for the Homewood-Flossmoor High School board and the Flossmoor mayoral race.

The forums will be accessible through the league’s Facebook page at facebook.com/LWVHFArea. The community is invited to submit questions in advance at [email protected]. Ques-tions will not be taken during the forums.

The forum for H-F will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13. There are six candidates running for three seats on the District 233 school board. Incumbents Steve Anderson, Annette Bannon and Beth Larocca are facing challengers Michelle Hoereth, Lakesha Spight and Cynthia Turnquest. 

Flossmoor Mayor Paul Braun is not seeking re-election. Candidates for mayor are Lakshmi Emory and Michelle Nelson. The Flossmoor mayoral forum will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 25.

The League of Women Voters is a nonprofit organization with a primary purpose of encouraging voting.
