Area residents can get rid of old electronics, medicines and paper at a recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 12, sponsored by Illinois Rep. Will Davis, D-Homewood, at his district office, 1912 W. 174th Street in East Hazel Crest.
COVID-19 safety rules will be in place for a contact-free event.
Accepted items include:
- Electronic cables, calculators, cell phones, computer hardware, laptops, desktops, fax machines, printers, hand-held devices, hard drives, motherboards, televisions (one per household).
- Prescription drugs or non-prescribed pharmaceuticals left in their containers. Hypodermic needles or liquid medicines are not accepted.
- Document shredding for paper with personal information, such as bank statements, tax returns, pay stubs, bills and receipts. Remove paper clips and bindings. Only two boxes of paper per household.
