Flossmoor village board OKs changes in HVAC project

The cost of heating and air conditioning at Flossmoor Village Hall jumped this week as trustees approved an additional $47,315 to cover unplanned and necessary additions in an ongoing HVAC renovation.

Flossmoor shows giving spirit during MLK Day of Service

Flossmoor residents spent time Monday in service to others — collecting food, making greeting cards, helping the homeless and working with the area's needy — as they marked the village's first Martin Luther King Day of Service.

Signature sound of the civil rights movement kept alive by Impressions singer

Reginald Torian Sr. of Country Club Hills will bring the voice and music of soul legend and south sider Curtis Mayfield to the world premiere of his music revue, "All Things Mayfield." The show at the Promontory in Hyde Park on Saturday, Jan. 31, is the latest phase of Torian's mission to keep Mayfield's music and legacy alive.
