Homewood woman killed in confrontation with Dolton police

A 19-year-old Homewood woman died early Tuesday in a confrontation with Dolton police, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report.

The woman was identified in the report as Alexis C. Wilson.

According to the Sun-Times and other media reports, Wilson allegedly was armed and refused to exit her vehicle. When an officer attempted to remove her, she drove off, injuring two officers.

Police fired at the vehicle, and it crashed into a squad car and then into an unoccupied store nearby. The reports said it was not clear whether she died as a result of gunfire or the crash.
