Door-to-door reminders encourage census participation in Flossmoor

As census season begins in Flossmoor, volunteers are spreading the word this weekend so that every village resident is counted this year. Members of Flossmoor’s Community Relations Commission will be hanging reminders on doors alerting residents about the importance of the Census and its funding for important village services.

U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, D-Ill., is hosting a program on the upcoming 2020 U.S. Census at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the Country Club Hills city hall, 4200 W. 183rd St.
“An accurate census is so important for our state and our district. Without a fair and accurate census, Illinois could lose out on billions of dollars in federal spending,” said Kelly, who represents Homewood and Flossmoor in Congress.
