Police: Suspect apprehended in Monday bank robbery in Homewood (free content)

A suspect was apprehended Monday morning, May 17, by bank security during an apparent robbery attempt at the US Bank branch at 183rd Street and Kedzie Avenue, according to Homewood police.

No one was injured in the incident, which was reported to police at 10:31 a.m.

The suspect was turned over to the custody of the FBI. The Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is assisting the FBI with the investigation. 

UPDATE: US Bank in Homewood robbed Friday afternoon

US Bank, 18300 Dixie Highway in Homewood, was robbed shortly before noon Friday, Nov. 7, according to the FBI. 

The robber was described as a black male, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, thin build, possible thin mustache, according to FBI agent Joan Hyde. He was wearing dark gray hoodie.

It was a non-takeover robbery, and no weapon was displayed, according to the FBI.
