Work on new businesses on both sides of Flossmoor’s Meijer complex has commenced.
Crews this month began grading the site of a Buona Beef restaurant, to be located just north of the BP station at Crawford Avenue and Vollmer Road.
Meanwhile, excavating is also underway for a four-unit building that will house a Starbucks and an AT&T store. That space is located just west of the Meijer access road off Vollmer and east of the detention pond.
Despite requesting a last-minute change to slightly enlarge the building, developers of a Flossmoor Buona Beef restaurant Monday won unanimous approval from village board members.
The chain, which specializes in Italian beef and sausage sandwiches, plans to build a 3,920-square-foot restaurant on an outlot at the Meijer superstore.
Plans for a Buona Beef restaurant in Flossmoor are moving ahead.
At their Jan. 5 meeting, village plan commission members voted to recommend approval of Buona’s proposal to build a restaurant adjacent to the Meijer store at Vollmer Road and Crawford Avenue.
Buona Beef, a leading purveyor of one of Chicago’s most iconic sandwiches, is planning to build a restaurant adjacent to Flossmoor’s Meijer store.
A representative of the restaurant chain will appear before Flossmoor’s plan commission at its Dec. 15 meeting.
