Flossmoor police investigate vehicle break-ins

Flossmoor police are investigating a number of vehicle break-ins that occurred between 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, and 5 a.m. on Friday, June 7.

The break-ins were reported in the area of Braeburn and Brassie avenues.
 
According to reports, 14 vehicles were targeted, including three that had damage to windows. 

Nine of the 13 vehicles had been left unlocked.
 

Dollar store robbed by armed man

A man brandishing a firearm robbed the Dollar Tree store in Homewood on Saturday, April 6, according to Homewood Police. At 5:13 p.m., police received a report of a robbery at the store, 17510 Halsted St., Homewood. Witnesses told police that a black man with a medium build entered the store and visibly showed a firearm while demanding money from the store clerk.
 

Cell phone taken in Flossmoor robbery

An armed robbery was reported to Flossmoor police on Tuesday. Police said that a male victim reported that he was walking in the 1000 block of Leavitt Avenue when he was approached by a suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded his cell phone. After the victim surrendered his phone, the male suspect fled the area in a vehicle.
 

No reported injuries when shots fired in Homewood early Saturday

Homewood police are investigating a report of shots fired at White Castle, 18250 S. Halsted St. early Saturday.

Police said the incident occurred shortly after 5:45 a.m. During an incident in the restaurant's drive-thru lane, a man exited a vehicle and fired a gun. No injuries were reported.

The man then fled the scene in a black four-door vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen.

Suspects arrested in Homewood smash-and-grab burglaries: police

Eight business burglaries in Homewood this fall — including four smash-and-grab incidents on Nov. 26 and 27 — have been cleared by arrests, police said Thursday, Dec. 20.
 
One adult and two juveniles have been arrested following a burglary spree in the village between Sept. 23 and Dec. 3, Homewood Deputy Chief Denise McGrath said.
 
The suspects were arrested between Dec. 5 and 14, she said.
 

Police: Bomb threats received Thursday by 2 Homewood business not credible

Two Homewood businesses received bomb threats on Thursday, Dec. 13, but police said the threats do no appear to be credible.

Both threats were delivered via email and contained a demand for payment, according to Homewood police.

Police received the first report at about 1:15 p.m. regarding a threat against a business in the 18800 block of Dixie Highway.

At 1:55 p.m. another threat was reported regarding a business in the 3200 block of 183rd Street.
