Labor and transparency concerns about proposed casino

On Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, Homewood residents attended a public hearing on the Wind Creek Casino proposal hosted by the Homewood Village Board.

What was clear by the end of the meeting is that the tension in the room revolved around common uncertainties that every democratic process results from: The balance between transparency and expediency.

East Hazel Crest approves Wind Creek casino proposal

The East Hazel Crest Board of Trustees approved two measures at its Wednesday night meeting in support of the proposed casino at Halsted Street and Interstate 80/294. 

Residents divided as Homewood takes another step toward casino

board held a hearing and voted to move closer
toward a new casino that would straddle the
village border with East Hazel Crest.

 

Wind Creek casino plan includes hotel, entertainment center

A casino complex announced Wednesday by Wind Creek Illinois LLC would include a hotel, entertainment center, three restaurants, two bars and a skyline lounge when the four-year project is complete.
