Homewood approves new contract with public works union

The Homewood village board approved a new collective bargaining agreement with a municipal employees union at its Sept. 8 meeting.

The village’s new contract, for Department of Public Works employees represented by the local chapter of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, is for a term of five years. The last contract ended May 1, 2020 and the new one will expire April 30, 2025.

The Homewood Public Works Department was the star of the Tuesday, May 8, board of trustees meeting. Eric Fritz was sworn in as the new Utility Department supervisor. Public Works Director John Schaefer reminded the board and audience about the Public Works Department open house on May 19. The board approved the department's request for new software

Homewood trustees' agenda includes requests for special use permit, stop sign installation

At the regular board meeting Tuesday Homewood trustees will witness four new employees take the oath of office and will consider a request for installation of a four-way stop at a residential intersection and a request for a day care center special use permit.

The board meets at 7:30 p.m. in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. 

Three new officers will officially join the Homewood Police Department: Nicholas Camilli, Thomas Rodeghier and Timothy Rosenberg. 

Staff changes on the Homewood trustees' agenda Tuesday

The Homewood Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday, Nov. 28, will be dominated by personnel moves.

Six staff members will take the oath of office in new positions or as new employees.

Larry Lipinski will be sworn in as a captain in the fire department. Jason Presnik will be sworn in as a lieutenant in the fire department. Kyle Paczesny and David Voltka will be sworn in as firefighter/paramedics.
