Homewood trustees will consider an intergovernmental agreement at its Tuesday meeting that would enable the resurfacing of 175th Street.

The agreement with the Cook County Department of Transportation would govern the project, which outlines resurfacing the street and repairing curbs and sidewalks from Ashland Avenue to the entrance to the Menards store on the east side of Halsted Street.

Amended license allows Rabid Brewing to plan outdoor activities

Rabid Brewing will soon host outdoor events after the Homewood village board approved an amendment to the business’s liquor license at the June 12 board meeting. Rabid’s license didn’t originally allow for the outdoor sale of alcohol. The change allows the brewery to sell beer to patrons in an outdoor area at the brewery at 17759 Bretz Drive.

Homewood trustees will consider a liquor license request from Rabid Brewing and a number of purchases, including police and public works equipment.

Rabid Brewing is asking for a license that would allow the establishment to serve alcohol outdoors. The request would require an ordinance amending the class 16 liquor license to allow outdoor sales.

Homewood to hold public hearing on village budget

The Homewood board of trustees will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, to allow residents to comment on the village's 2018-19 budget.

Finance Director Dennis Bubenik will present information about the $39.5 million budget. Because the village is on a two-year budget cycle, the 2018-19 budget mostly involves fine-tuning the current plan, he said.
