Prairie State College thanks Homewood dentist for his work establishing dental hygiene clinic

It was 50 years ago that Homewood resident Dr. Francis Wright helped organize the dental hygiene program at Prairie State College. In June, PSC paid tribute to Wright, presenting him with its Pioneer Pillar award in recognition of his work on behalf of the program he helped develop.

State budget crisis forces PSC board to raise tuition for fall 2017

The Prairie State College (PSC) District 515 Board of Trustees voted during a special meeting this month to raise the tuition for fall 2017, based on a $7.50 per credit hour increase for in-district students. 
The decision comes during a time when Illinois state lawmakers approach a third year without a budget, resulting in vastly reduced funding for PSC and higher education institutions across the state.

PSC Music Department presents Spring Concert Series in May

Three concerts will be presented at Prairie State College as a Spring Concert Series.
The performances will be by ensembles comprised of PSC students, community members and advanced high school musicians.The 7:30 p.m. presentations will be given in the Conference Center on the college’s main campus, 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. The programs are free and open to the public.
