Homewood Science Center marks 5 years with outdoor beer party

It’s time for an outdoor celebration, and the Homewood Science Center has the perfect idea – a fifth anniversary party with a focus on the science of brewing.

The party-fundraiser, “Celebrating the Science of Brewing,” is set for 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, at Rabid Brewing, 17759 Bretz Drive in Homewood. A tent will be set up on the beer field adjacent to the brewery, and entertainment will be by Not My Dad’s Band. 

Beer businesses and liquor licenses to dominate Homewood trustees' meeting Tuesday

Beer and business issues make up the bulk of the agenda for the Tuesday meeting of the Homewood Board of Trustees, but trustees will also consider a property purchase. Several measures on the agenda involve two craft beer companies that are planning to open breweries and tap rooms in the village. There are also several liquor license requests and one liquor license policy change on the agenda.

Rabid Brewing to receive $40,000 from Homewood to aid brewery/taproom development

Rabid Brewing will get a financial boost from the village of Homewood to help the new craft beer company finish developing its brewery and taproom on the east side of town.

At the board meeting April 12, trustees approved $40,000 in incentive funding for the project from the village's non-TIF Business Incentive Program.
