Competition at Homewood-Flossmoor High School was over, but that didn’t mean the end to track and field for several students who raced as members of the Illinois Shockers at the Amateur Athletic Association (AAU) Junior Olympics.
Nearly 100 girls attended “Girls on Golf” at Marian Catholic High School July 1 for a program designed to not only teach them the fundamentals of golf but also to be leaders.
Dozens of awards were handed out to graduating athletes at the 39th Annual Homewood-Flossmoor Senior Athletic Banquet but it was a mass celebration June 1 at Idlewild Country Club in Flossmoor.
This year H-F’s Class of 2017 has had 29 student-athletes from five sports commit to college teams for next year:
Back in 2005, Mark Thompson didn’t have to be coaxed into coaching lacrosse at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. That he’s still at it nearly a decade later says much about his love of the sport and willingness to work with young people.
